 MARSTRUCT Virtual Institute

The MARSTRUCT Virtual Institute has been founded by the partners of MARSTRUCT - Network of Excellence in Marine Structures and it is constituted by European Universities, Classification Societies and other Institutions dealing with Marine Structures.

The overall objective of the Virtual Institute is to improve the safety, effectiveness, reliability, environmental behavior and comfort of ship structures through the application of advanced structural and reliability assessment within design, fabrication and operation, leading to increased public and commercial confidence in the competitiveness and use of waterborne transportation.

In particular, it aims:
• To development, collect and exchange of scientific knowledge and experience, at an advanced level concerning all aspects related to marine structures.
• To achieve, among other things, to interest other organizations and institutions in its activity, enabling new members to cooperate actively and by organizing periodically courses, workshops conferences at advanced level eventually in collaboration with other institutions.
